Presenting the Shipibo Tapestries woven by Tia Juana, our Shipibo Sistar from the Contamana community of the Ucayali
This Shipibo Tapestry is 72cm by 162 cm (28.3 inches by 63,7 inches)Â and is adorned with the sacred vine of Chakruna and the sacred song of Pinon
Historically the Shipibo Tapestries were woven as visual records of shamanic visions seen within the world of Ayahuasca and exchanged for rice, salt and candles upon the banks of the Ucayali to offer the Shipibo what the jungle did not provide.
Today many Shipibo Women and families struggle to live sustainably, our vision is to bridge Shipibo women to a global marketplace so they may peacefully continue to weave and live upon their ancestral lands
Thank you for your support of Tia Juanas work
