Shipibo Tapestry, Ancestral Ayahuasca, Shipibo Cloth, Shamanic Alter Cloth, 67 cm x 67 cm Shipibo Community San Juan

$111.00

Celebrating and presenting the work of the Shipibo women from the San Juan Shipibo Konibo Community.  Honouring deeply the women from this community with whom we have been weaving for many years.

This Beauty Full Shipibo tapestry is 67 cm by 67 cm (26.3 inches by 26.3 inches)

Ancestrally the Shipibo-Konibo would weave the Ayahuasca visions upon tapestries and clothes using native cotton, which was woven and spun by the Shipibo Community. All colours to weave the tapestries were dyed with natural hues arising from plants. At this time the range of colours available to the Shipibo was less varied than the wide rainbow of colours available now. At this time the Ayahuasca visions, a woven record of what the maestro saw within the ceremonial space were woven in a different way than they are today, these are named in the Shipibo weaving communities as the ancestral patterns.

This Sacred cloth represents the ancestral way of showing Ayahuasca and Bobinsana

Thank you for supporting this vision
