Celebrating and presenting the work of the Shipibo women from the San Francisco Shipibo Konibo Community
This Beauty Full Shipibo tapestry is 60 cm by 150 cm (23.6 inches by 59.0 inches) and its significance is the Heart of Ayahuasca, which arises from when the sacred vine is cut in a cross section to reveal a sacred flower like pattern within the vine.
Ancestrally the Shipibo-Konibo would weave the Ayahuasca visions upon tapestries and clothes using native cotton, which was woven and spun by the Shipibo Community. All colours to weave the tapestries were dyed with natural hues arising from plants.
The Shipibo would weave the Ayahuasca Visions onto the native cloth and wear cloths such as this one as a traditional Shipibo wrap around skirt which is still worn today.
This sacred cloth can be worn as a skirt or as an alter cloth for your sacred shrine in your home.
Thank you for supporting this vision
