This Shipibo Tapestry is measured 148 cm by 62 cm, a medium weaving to hang on the wall or to cover an alter. Every plant has an Icaro, medicine song and this shows pinon. This skirt is traditionally worn by Shipibo Women as part of their typical dress.

The Shipibo are Masters of Ayahuasca.  Ayahuasca is a Sacred Medicinal plant from the Amazon that when drunk, facilitates great healing. When a Maestro (shaman) drinks Ayahuasca to enable healing they will sing Icaros (Medicine Songs) to the individual seeking healing. In the spirit realm of this visionary plant these Icaros have a vibrational frequency that can be seen by the Maestro. The Shipibo Tapestries are the woven world of the world of Ayahuasca.

For generations the Shipibo have recorded the visions of Ayahuasca in handwoven Shipibo tapestries and used them as exchange for what the jungle did not provide, this cultural knowledge is the frequency of support offered to the women through this platform so they can continue to weave and live sustainably in the jungle as they always have.

Thank you for your support of our work! Your purchase has helped us with our mission of providing culturally appropriate, sustainable work to the women in Shipibo Communities enabling them to stay in tribal communities upon their ancestral lands
